Here are the details. -
How long will material on hold be kept for
pickup?
You have seven business days to pick up an item once the library has notified you that it is available. -
What does "In Transit" mean?
The item is en route between branches and therefore not currently available. -
See a list of the items I have checked out and
returned?
Once an item has been returned it is removed from your account. This is in accordance with Fairfax County Public Library Board of Trustees policy for customer privacy. If you would like to keep track of titles you’ve read, there are free services which provide this opportunity such as LibraryThing.com, Shelfari.com, Amazon Wish List, and others. -
Discover why items I've returned still appear on my
account?
Thousands of items are returned every day. Each item is checked in manually by staff. While we strive to process each item returned daily, it can take up to three days, especially after a week-end or a holiday closing due to heavier amounts of returns at those times. If a returned item is still on your account after three days, please visit or call your library branch. -
