TextCity of Fairfax Regional Library Friends
Friends of the City of Fairfax Regional Library have
been supporting their branch and the library system for nearly a quarter
century. This dedicated group raises funds, through used book sales, for
library activities at the branch and have made generous donations to
support the library system. They are strong advocates for the library and
its mission, as well as providing support for library-related community
activities.

Accomplishments
The City of Fairfax Regional Library Friends have provided financial
support for the Summer Library Program, the Fall for the Book Festival,
library activities for the annual Chocolate Lover's Festival, and many
other county, city, and local programs, including children's reading
programs. The Friends have purchased reference and circulation desks,
book carts, shelving, magazine subscriptions, supplies and accessories
for the branch, and conservation supplies for the Virginia Room. Each
year they graciously sponsor the luncheon for volunteers without whom the
library could not function as well. The Friends recently donated $50,000
to the Fairfax
Library Foundation to be used in the new library.
Membership
The Friends welcome new members. No dues are required, just a love of
books and a sense of commitment to our community.
Meeting Dates
The Friends meet each Tuesday from 10:00-12:00 to sort books and prepare
for upcoming book sales.
Donation Process
The library accepts donated materials in good condition when the library
is open. Please call ahead if you have a large quantity of items. We
regret we cannot accept old sets of encyclopedias, old textbooks, or
large quantities of National Geographic magazines.
