National Library Week is celebrated every year by libraries throughout the country during the month of April. In 2008, it will be celebrated April 13-19. April 15 will be recognized as National Library Worker's Day. This tribute is sponsored by the American Library Association. National Library Week was first observed in 1958. It is designed to recognize and support the contribution of libraries and librarians to their communities. The theme of this year’s celebration is “Join the circle of knowledge @ your library®."
