Ramadan is the ninth month of the Muslim calendar. In 2008 Ramadan will start on September 1st and end on September 30th. The Fast of Ramadan occurs during this month. An estimated 1.5 billion Muslims celebrate Ramadan each year by fasting during the daylight hours and eating light meals after the sun sets.
