Noted as one of the most renowned composers of the Romantic Period, Frederic Chopin, was born in 1810 in Zelazowa Wola, Poland to a Polish mother and French father. Chopin is praised for his piano performances.
Recognized as a child prodigy, Chopin was performing in front of crowds and composing his own pieces by the time he was 8 years old. As a young musical scholar, he studied musical composition, art, and literature while growing up in Poland, and continued his musical education at the University of Warsaw.
Chopin performed in Austria, Germany, and Paris. In 1832, he left Poland and moved to Paris, where he died of tuberculosis in 1849.
