  • AARP Tax-Aide Program
    Free help in preparing and filing state and federal returns is available through the AARP Tax-Aide program, which provides free tax assistance service for low- and middle-income taxpayers, with special attention given to those 60 and over.

  • NOTE: AARP Tax-Aide Program services are generally available from February 1 through April 15 of each year. Check back in early 2009 for local-area program locations and schedules.

  • Fairfax County CASH Program
    The Fairfax County CASH (Creating Assets, Savings and Hope) program offers free federal and state income tax preparation services to working families with annual household incomes of less than $40,000.

    NOTE: CASH Tax preparation services are generally available from February 1 through April 15 of each year. Check back in early 2009 for local-area locations and schedules.

At the Library


Several of the most commonly needed federal forms and instructions are distributed — subject to availability — at library branches. Each branch also has reproducible copies of federal forms and instructions. You may photocopy these items for 15 cents per page.

The Virginia Department of Taxation does not provide handout copies of Virginia tax forms to libraries. Each library branch has reproducible copies of Virginia forms and instructions. You may photocopy these items for 15 cents per page.

Forms can be made available in alternative formats. Call Access Services at 703-324-8380 or TTY 703-324-8365.
