Library Customers Read Online Magazines for Free
Fairfax County Public Library now offers access to online magazines for free thanks to a new database funded by The Library of Virginia. Zinio for libraries provides library users access to more than 50 online magazines.
Through the Fairfax County Public Library web page, library users have unlimited simultaneous access to complete digital magazines, which can be viewed on most Internet-enabled devices inside or outside of the library. Zinio’s technology digitally recreates a magazine page for page, including full-color pictures, using intuitive navigation, key-word article search and interactive elements such as audio and video. The Economist; Newsweek; Forbes; Good Housekeeping; National Geographic; and O, The Oprah Magazine are just a few of the popular titles available.
“Whether your interests are health and wellbeing, business, finance, computers, entertainment or many other subjects, you will find something to enjoy in this new collection.” said Elizabeth Rhodes Collection Development Coordinator for Fairfax County Public Library.
Visit the Online Resources page of the library’s webpage and search for Zinio under Magazines or see a library staff member at any of our 23 library branches for more information on how to access this service.
