Today’s Politics and Social Justice with Maria Teresa Kumar
Sherwood Regional Library hosts “Today’s Politics and Social Justice” on Wednesday, March 26 at 7:30 p.m. Maria Teresa Kumar, President and CEO of Voto Latino, MSNBC political analyst and frequent guest on NPR, will discuss government, civic engagement and social action.
“We’re thrilled to bring Ms. Kumar to Fairfax County to discuss such an important topic to our community,” said Ted Kavich, Fairfax County Public Library’s Programming Coordinator. “She was named one of the 10 most powerful women in Washington, DC, by Elle magazine in 2013 and Voto Latino is a dynamic element in elections; they are responsible for registering over 225,000 new voters,” said Kavich.
This program was made possible by a generous donation by the Friends of the Sherwood Regional Library.
