What’s New in Children’s Picture Books May, 2013


Reading Tip:It is important children understand the stories you read aloud. One way to check for understanding is to ask questions as you read stories.

The story of a boy's visit to the beach, and the sensations he experiences as he gives himself over to the ocean and the pleasures to be had at water's edge. Appropriate for ages 4-5

Rhyming text divulges the many sounds heard on a farm, from a rooster's morning crow to an owl's goodnight call. Appropriate for ages 3-5

A little girl who is having trouble falling asleep tries counting sheep, but the ten wooly creatures have mishaps, one after another, until there are none left to count. Appropriate for ages 2-5
