Internet Access at the Library
Library customers have access to more than 300 public
computers at 22 of our library branches.
Each public computer provides access to the Internet as well as to
Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Customers
can print from the public computers for a small fee.
Each of our library branches offers Wi-Fi access so customers can use their laptops, tablets or other Wi-Fi-enabled device at the library.
Many library branches offer volunteer-led computer tutoring or other computer-related instruction. Visit the library’s Calendar of Events to search for a class.
Keep in mind the following:
A library card allows a user to access the computers for free. People without a library card, or who do not have their library card with them, are required to purchase a guest pass ($2.00) and show identification such as driver's license, school or work ID, credit card, etc.
Access to the public computers may be limited to two 30-minute sessions per day depending on demand at that branch.
Information may be saved to customer CDs or flash drives. The Fairfax Library Foundation sells flash drives at library branches for the convenience of customers.
The Access Services branch does not have a public computer or public printing.
Parents or guardians are responsible for the Internet information accessed by their children.
