Interlibrary loan (ILL) service is available to all Fairfax County Public Library cardholders, except reciprocal borrowers, who require information or materials not available through the Library's resources. Please contact any Library branch to place an interlibrary loan request.

Items available for interlibrary loan include books, microforms, and periodical articles. Microforms must be requested at branches that have microform readers: Chantilly Regional, Fairfax City Regional, Reston Regional, Sherwood Regional, and Tysons-Pimmit Regional. Costs and loan periods for interlibrary loans vary widely. Terms and conditions of loans and costs of photocopying are entirely at the discretion of the lending library. ILL service is not recommended for obtaining books less than one year old, audiovisual material, periodical issues, or materials needed in less than three to five weeks."
