Insect identification samples may be brought to any library branch to be forwarded to the Fairfax County Cooperative Extension, who will respond directly to residents. No fee is charged. Residents complete a plant and insect diagnostic form at the library. Insects must be dead, and it is best to send more than one. They should be enclosed in an unbreakable vial or jar.
