Social Media Sites for Readers
New technology has provided many places online for book lovers to connect with each other and with good books.
Goodreads allows readers to post reviews; catalog what they’ve read; join discussion groups; start book clubs; contact an author and even post their writing.
LibraryThing is a cataloging and social networking site for readers helping them create a catalog of books they own, have read, would like to read and more.
Shelfari allows readers to set up a virtual shelf of their favorite books; share with friends; see what the most popular books are and what the top books are in their favorite genre.
BookCrossing has a bookshelf where readers can add books in any language. Readers can also create a code and tag a physical book, place it anywhere and follow it as it is “captured” by other BookCrossing members.
