Open to seniors from Centreville High School, Fairfax High School, Robinson Secondary School and Woodson High School.
$400 to the winner
Deadline: March 1, 2012
Topic sentence “If I could incorporate into my life’s goals the principles of one of our U.S. Presidents, I would choose …”
Rules:
- Your personal essay must use the topic sentence outlined above;
- The essay must be 700 words or less and define the selected president’s goals as well as describe his connection to the writer’s personal aspirations;
- Only one essay per applicant;
- Each entrant must sign a pledge attesting their submission is original, independently written, not previously published and completely true. Essays should be sent my mail, email or fax to the address below. Write “Berkey Essay Contest” on the envelope.
- Essays must be received by March 1, 2012 to be eligible for the $400 award.
