The Fairfax County Public Library is often able to provide practicum opportunities for students pursuing their Master In Library Science (MLS) degree.

If you are interested in an internship at a library branch, contact any library branch and ask to speak with the branch manager.

Be prepared to discuss your schedule including start and end dates, how many hours per week you would like to work and what your area of interest is (Youth Services, Information Services, etc.).

Practicum students are not paid and there is no guarantee of future employment.
