Position Title: Administrative Assistant

Branch: Library Administration

Department: Volunteer Office, Training office, PIO, Center for the Book

Supervisor: Director of Volunteer Programs

Length of Commitment: 1 year

Time Involvement: 4 hours per week minimum

Position Summary:
Provides word processing [Word] support to various Library Administration offices. Performs clerical activities as needed. Answers phone. Enters data.

Major Responsibilities:
Types letters, reports, updates for various departments. Files. Photocopies. Assembles training/information packets, mailings, and notebooks. Enters data into EXCEL, ACCESS, and other databases. Substitutes as receptionist/switchboard operator when receptionist is at lunch.

Qualifications:
High school degree or equivalent. Word processing skills. Alphanumeric filing skills. Ability to organize. Attentive to detail. Good interpersonal skills. Clear, distinct speech and pleasant manner over the telephone.
