Position Title: Adopt-a-Shelf Coordinator

Branch: Available at several branches

Department: Circulation

Supervisor: Circulation Management or Staff

Length of Commitment: One year

Time Involvement: At least 3 hours per week

Position Summary
:
Coordinates a group of Adopt-a-Shelf volunteers who maintain sections of a branch library in alpha/numeric order.

Major Responsibilities:
Assists library staff in recruiting Adopt-a-Shelf volunteers and training them. Helps develop a successful system for allocating sections of the collection to volunteers. Communicates new information to volunteers, and assists in volunteer appreciation. Maintains volunteer sign-in sheets to register volunteer hours for branch monthly statistical report.

Qualifications:
Knowledge of the Dewey Decimal System. Organizational skills. Experience in teaching/training. Good interpersonal skills.
