Position Title: Concert Program Assistant

Branch: Library Administration

Supervisor: Coordinator, FCPL Music Friends

Length of Commitment: At least one year

Time Involvement: Minimum of 4-8 hours per month at the Fairfax County Government Center or at home, plus attendance at 2-4 concerts per month during concert season (October through April). Concerts are held at the Alden Theatre in McLean.

Position Summary
:
Under the supervision of the Coordinator, assists in clerical, ushering, and other responsibilities connected with the Music Friends Concerts at the Alden. This series provides the community with concerts by outstanding young professional musicians and young soloists.

Major Responsibilities:
May participate in scheduling auditions, typing letters of acceptance, arranging performance dates, brochure and biography typing, ushering, providing simple refreshments, keeping statistics, as necessary to facilitate the series. Regularly attends the series.

Qualifications:
Knowledgeable musician with a commitment to excellence in musical programming. Interns and practicum students welcomed.
