Position Title: Virginia Indexer

Branch: Fairfax City Regional Library

Department: Virginia Room

Supervisor: Virginia Room Librarian

Length of Commitment: 6 months minimum

Time Involvement: 4 hours per week

Position Summary:
Indexes newspapers, cemeteries, photographs, diaries and other sources for items of interest to local history researchers.

Major Responsibilities:
Uses appropriate subject headings. Prepares card or computerized index. May enter data into computer.

Qualifications:
Attention to detail. Computer skills helpful. Knowledge of local area.
