There is an unprecedented crisis in the Fairfax-Falls
Church community.
The current economic downturn has brought:
- Increased unemployment
- Decreases in wages
- An overall greater gap between average incomes and the costs of daily living
The requests for help with basic immediate needs (PDF), such as food and rent, is greater than nonprofits, faith-based communities, governments and schools can meet.
Fairfax Cares is a coalition of Fairfax-Falls Church community partners organized to strengthening the basic needs safety net system during this time of economic crisis. For more information, visit www.fairfaxcares.org.
