These areas of land are owned by a group of properties that lie within the common area. Information portrayed on this layer was initially derived from the ink-on-mylar property maps maintained by the County since the early 1960's. Purpose: Primary purpose of this data is the graphic portrayal of land developed through the approval process defined in the Fairfax County Subdivision Ordinance and their spatial relationships throughout the county. This data layer illustrates the commonly owned land within condominium complexes. Quality control checks were performed by Engineering Systems Incorporated and Dewberry and Davis. Staff from the GIS branch were also used for quality control checking. The draw symbol attribute was checked by plotting the features on the standard map product and ensuring the features appeared and were drawn correctly. Logical Consistency Report: Segments making up the outer and inner boundaries of a polygon tie end-to-end to completely enclose the area. No duplicate features exist. Intersecting lines are separated into individual line segments at the point of intersection. All nodes are represented by a single coordinate pair, which indicates the beginning or end of a line segment. Logical consistency was tested by visual inspection and automated quality control procedures. Completeness Report: Continually being updated. Errors being corrected as they are found.
