In lieu of a Kaleidoscope meeting this month, I hope you will register for and attend a special seminar and exercise for disaster preparation.  Volunteer Fairfax has received a grant to facilitate community collaboration in the event of a disaster.  They are hosting a pilot program in the districts of Mason, Braddock and Sully, consisting of a Seminar and Exercise.  These events will help you learn how you and your community groups are critical in a disaster, and how you can be a part of the new Community Resiliency Group.  The Seminar is scheduled for Wednesday, October 29, 2014, 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. at Annandale United Methodist Church, 6935 Columbia Pike in Annandale.  This is a free event. The subsequent table-top Exercise will be held on December 3, 2014, 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. at the Heritage Center, Conference Rooms C and D, 7611 Little River Turnpike in Annandale.  Dinner will be served at both the Seminar and the Exercise.  To register, visit .  For more information please contact Tracy Friend, Emergency Response Program Manager,
