Boards, Authorities and Commission Members Needed
Help serve your community by serving on a Fairfax County Board, Authority or Commission. Please ask your friends, neighbors and community members if they are willing to help serve Fairfax County. Supervisor Hyland has vacancies on:
Affordable Dwelling Unit Advisory Board - To hear and make final determinations or grant requests for modifications concerning the application of the ordinance. The ADUAB is to review and approve the ADU prototypes and specifications which are to be used in setting sales prices and rents before they are established by the County Executive.
Civil Service Commission - To represent public interest in improvement of personnel administration; to advise the Board of Supervisors, County Executive and Personnel Director in formulation of Policies.
Fairfax Area Disability Services Board - In accordance with Va. Code Sec. 51.5-47 to provide input to state and local agencies on service needs and priorities of persons with physical and sensory disabilities, to provide information and resource referral to local governments regarding the Americans with Disabilities Act, and to provide such other assistance and advice to local governments as may be requested.
History Commission - To advise the County Government and generally to promote public interest in all matters bearing on the history of Fairfax County.
Information Technology Policy Advisory Committee - To provide the Board with a source of objective advice regarding information technology issues.
Police Officers Retirement System Board of Trustees - To be responsible for the general administration and proper operation of the Police Officers Retirement System.
