Boards, Authorities and Commission Members Needed

Help serve your community by serving on a Fairfax County Board, Authority or Commission.  Please ask your friends, neighbors and community members if they are willing to help serve Fairfax County.  Supervisor Storck has vacancies on:

Advisory Social Services Board - Monitor the formulation and implementation of social welfare programs

Athletic Council - Advise the Board on allocation, use, management and future planning of County athletic resources

Barbara Varon Volunteer Award Selection Committee - Reviews nominee applications and selects the recipient of the Award

Oversight Committee on Drinking and Driving - To inform the Board appropriately about drinking and driving related conditions which impact public safety and mobility

Wetlands Board - The board shall preserve and prevent the despoliation and destruction of wetlands within its jurisdiction while accommodating necessary economic development in a manner consistent with wetlands preservation

A. Heath Onthank Award Selection Committee - To grant recognition for accomplishment of outstanding worth in advancing and improving public service in County by merit system employees.

Childcare Advisory Council - To advise the Board and the Office for Children on programs and policies related to child care.

Human Services - To review human services needs and assess the effectiveness of the human services delivery system; to report annually on the conditions and effectiveness of the human services delivery system; to develop a more effective and efficient human services delivery system;

While the particular positions you're interested in may be filled at the time you apply, vacancies do occur regularly and ad hoc groups may be formed by the Board of Supervisors to address specific situations.
