August 10, 2007 News Release: The Record of Decision (ROD) signed this week and announced today clears the way for the realignment of Fort Belvoir and documents a reduction from 22,000 to 19,000 as the number of jobs moving to the post in accordance with the 2005 Base Realignment & Closure Act of 2005. July 26, 2007 News Release: Congressman Jim Moran and Congressman Tom Davis have announced that the U.S. Army and the Commonwealth of Virginia have reached an agreement with regard to the transfer of 22,000 employees to Fort Belvoir Army Base.
