Economic, Demographic & Statistical Research (EDSR) collects, synthesizes and creates statistical data and conducts economic and demographic research to:

Inform and guide data-driven policy decisions, strategic planning and decision-making
Provide clear and easily accessible information about Fairfax County in a variety of formats and geographies for use in decision-making, planning, grant proposals and business plans
Empower county staff, elected officials, residents and businesses with accurate economic and demographic knowledge of current and future population, housing and land use trends
Provide ad hoc economic, statistical and demographic research and analyses to support and inform county initiatives
Support administration of the Fairfax County Youth Survey, and conduct validation and analysis of the data annually
