2011 Park Authority, Neighborhood and Community Services Seek Public Comment on Field Use Permits, Regulations

The Fairfax County Park Authority and the Department of Neighborhood and Community Services are soliciting public comment to help establish guidelines for permitting and regulation of athletic field use. At the heart of the matter is determining the appropriate number of players who can use a field without a permit. Currently, that number is 40. A brief staff presentation on the current issues and existing regulations will be presented at the meeting.
In order to help guide decision-makers, a public comment meeting will take place on Wednesday, April 6, 2011 at 7 p.m. in Room 206 A and B of the Pennino Building located at 12011 Government Center Parkway, Fairfax, VA.
Those who wish to speak at the meeting may pre-register by contacting the Park Authority Public Information Office at 703-324-8662 or via Parkmail@fairfaxcounty.gov. Speakers may also sign up at the meeting. Individuals may speak for three minutes; one representative of an organization may speak for five minutes.
Public comments will also be accepted for 30 days, with the comment period beginning immediately and closing on April 25, 2011. Comments can be sent to Parkmail@fairfaxcounty.gov or can be mailed to the Fairfax County Park Authority at 12055 Government Center Parkway, Suite 927, Fairfax, VA. 22035.
