Seasonal Fresh Produce for Reston Residents

4th Saturday of the month, May 24 – November 22

Southgate Community Center - 12125 Pinecrest Road, Reston VA

The Fairfax County Department of Neighborhood and Community Services (NCS) and Live Healthy Fairfax are partnering with the Capital Area Food Bank (CAFB) to provide low-income residents in the Reston community with access to seasonal fresh produce at no charge through the CAFB’s Mobile Marketplace program.  This open-air market will begin on May 24 and continue on the 4th Saturday of every month through November 22 from 10 a.m. to noon at the Southgate Community Center, 12125 Pinecrest Road, Reston, VA.

The Mobile Marketplace is a “farmers market” inspired distribution of fresh fruits and vegetables for families in high-need communities.  This targeted initiative builds on achievements of similar programs in communities in New York and Chicago where food insecurity rates are highest and households lack access to affordable healthy foods.
