Supervisor Cathy Hudgins to Hold
Community Meetings On the FY 2004 Budget
Hunter Mill District Supervisor Cathy Hudgins will be holding three meetings in February and March entitled “Budgeting in Times of Increasing Assessments and Decreasing Services.” The meetings will be held 6:30-9 p.m. on the following dates at the following locations:
- Feb. 19, Floris Elementary School Cafeteria, 2708 Centreville Road, Herndon
- March 5, Vienna Community Center, 120 Cherry Street, SE, Vienna
- March 19, Reston Community Center at Lake Anne, 1609 Washington Plaza, Reston
Supervisor Hudgins is holding these meetings in an effort to keep the community informed on the upcoming budget process and the difficulties that the Board of Supervisors will confront.
“I’ve already heard from a number of constituents in the Hunter Mill District who are concerned about two things in the upcoming Fairfax County budget: rising real estate assessments and potential service cuts. Unfortunately, both are realities we will almost surely have to face. I will be hosting community meetings in the coming months to discuss the effects both of these will have on Hunter Mill citizens,” noted Supervisor Hudgins.
The agendas of each meeting will include:
-
Attendees Survey
-
Introduction by Supervisor Hudgins
-
Budget 101
-
Examination of Community Challenges
- Question and Answer
