Plan Now Available Via Internet
The Area I volume of the Fairfax County Comprehensive Plan is available on the county Web site for anyone interested in accessing this document. This is the first volume of the 2003 edition of the Plan to be published on the Web and the other three volumes will follow. This edition replaces the printed 2000 edition of the Plan. The Area I volume includes the Annandale, Baileys, Jefferson and Lincolnia Planning Districts in the Merrifield Suburban Center.
The Comprehensive Plan is a guide for decision-making related to the built and natural environment of Fairfax County. The Plan consists of five volumes, the Policy Plan and Area Plans I-IV as well as the Comprehensive Plan Map.
To use the Plan on the Web, you are encouraged to:

Add the Web page to your "favorites" file so you can refer to
the Plan easily

Print sections from the Web edition when printed copies are
needed.

View the Web edition of the Comprehensive Plan since it is the version
that will be most up-to-date.

Use the headers at the top of each page to identify the section and its
location in the Plan.
- See the "Amended Through [date]" in each section header to identify when that section was last updated. (Sections of the Comprehensive Plan volumes will be updated periodically to incorporate plan amendments adopted by the Board of Supervisors.)
