Recognize
Citizens and Adopt a Resolution
The Fairfax County Board of Supervisors, at their meeting on Monday, May 19, beginning at 9:30 a.m., will recognize the following citizens and organizations for their achievements and contributions to the community. Curtain Up!
The theater department of George C. Marshall High School, Falls Church,
will be honored for the recognition received from the commonwealth of
Virginia as the best high school theatrical troupe in the state. Marshall
won the honor for its production of the Russian comedy, "Journey of
the Fifth Horse," at the Virginia High School League State Theatre
Festival held in Charlottesville. This is the third time Marshall has won
this honor.
Time Flies When You're Havin' Fun
The Fairfax County Board of Supervisors will adopt a resolution to
applaud the 50th anniversary of the Tower Center Shopping Center,
Springfield. Tower Center is the original home of Fischer Hardware, a
renowned Springfield institution. In addition, the board will thank the
Tower Center Merchants Association for its noteworthy civic involvement
and outstanding commitment to the community.
Olivet Episcopal Church Celebrates 150th Anniversary
Olivet Episcopal Church, Franconia, established in 1853, will be
recognized on the occasion of its 150th anniversary. During that time the
church has played a vital role in creating, building and sustaining the
community.
