Community Meetings to be Held on Reston Teen Center
Two community meetings will be held this month about the Reston Teen Center to discuss current after-school, evening and weekend activities for teens, ideas for future programming, partnering for effective programming and efficient use of existing resources. Meetings will be held on Wednesday, June 25, from 7:30 to 9 p.m. at the Reston Teen Center (adjacent to the Reston YMCA), 12196 Sunset Hills Road, Reston, and on Monday, June 30, from 2 to 3:30 p.m. at the North County Governmental Center, 12000 Bowman Towne Drive, Reston. Residents are encouraged to attend either or both of the forums.
"Teens, parents, service providers and anyone who cares about kids and what they do in their free time should make an effort to attend," said Jesse Ellis, management analyst with the Department of Community and Recreation Services. "Anyone concerned that the Reston area's children have a safe place to go after school and during the summer months to build their skills and competencies are encouraged to attend and get involved with the Reston Teen Center's programs."
The community meetings are being sponsored by the Fairfax County Department of Community and Recreation Services and the Fairfax County Department of Systems Management for Human Services. For more information or to make reasonable ADA accommodations, contact Ellis at 703-324-5704, TTY 703-222-9693, or e-mail Jesse.Ellis@fairfaxcounty.gov.
