Braddock District Supervisor to Hold
Town Meeting on Transportation and Land Use
The Braddock District Town Meeting will be held on Wednesday, June 25, at 7:30 p.m. in the Kings Park Library Community Room, 9000 Burke Lake Road, Burke. The meeting, hosted by the Braddock District Supervisor, will focus on the report from the recently completed Community Dialog on Transportation and Land Use.
In January through May of this year, the Braddock District hosted a series of community discussions to examine the issues of transportation and land use. In response to the defeat of the Regional Sales Tax Referendum, the Braddock District Supervisor worked with residents to explore alternative strategies for addressing the region’s traffic congestion.
Topics discussed in the community dialog included: transportation planning and funding, the county’s Comprehensive Plan for transportation and development, the parameters within which we operate in the commonwealth of Virginia, and political dynamics. Panelists throughout the series included state, county and private sector speakers. Information about these topics is in a report to be discussed at Wednesday’s town meeting.
The town meeting will be broadcast on the Fairfax County Government Cable Channel 16 at 8 p.m. Friday, June 27, and Sunday, June 29. For more information about the meeting or the broadcast date and time, call the Braddock District Office at 703-425-9300, TTY 703-978-7973.
