New Chair and Vice Chair Elected
To Fairfax County Small Business Commission
The Fairfax County Small Business Commission recently announced that it has elected new leadership. Stan L. Reid, Springfield District Commissioner, has been elected chair. Katy Fike, Mount Vernon District Commissioner, has been elected vice chair.
The purpose of the Fairfax County Small Business Commission is to enhance the capability of small, minority-owned and emerging businesses to succeed. The Commission is comprised of 12 unpaid residents of Fairfax County appointed and confirmed by the Board of Supervisors.
The SBC holds monthly meetings to make citizens aware of opportunities and to get ideas from the community concerning what the county can do to improve the climate for small and minority businesses. The meetings are held on the last Monday of each month and are open to the public.
