The Fairfax County Board of Supervisors, at their meeting on Monday, Aug. 4, beginning at 9:30 a.m., will recognize the following for their achievements and contributions to the community. A resolution will be adopted as listed below. For more information, call 703-324-3187, TTY 703-324-2935.
50 Years Young and Going Strong
The Board of Supervisors will recognize the 50th anniversary of Garfield
Elementary School, Springfield. Garfield Elementary has served the
children of the Springfield community throughout the years with the
support of an outstanding administration, staff, PTA and community
volunteers. They have provided a high quality learning environment with
an emphasis on literacy, hands-on experiences, character education,
critical thinking skills, working cooperatively and practicing cultural
sensitivity
Bidding Farewell
The Board of Supervisors will recognize Robert Breads and adopt a
resolution designating his outstanding service to Fairfax County for more
than 28 years. Breads, director of the Personal Property and Business
License Division of the Department of Tax Administration, will be
retiring from Fairfax County on Sept. 5. He is a Certified Deputy
Commissioner of the Revenue and was named Outstanding Deputy of the Year
for 2000 by the Commissioner of the Revenue Association of
Virginia.
