"Lee District Welcomes You" Signs to be Celebrated
Friday, Aug. 29, at 10 a.m. in the parking lot of St. Bernadette Church, 7600 Old Keene Mill Road, Springfield, the Lee District Supervisor's Office will celebrate the installation of new "Lee District Welcomes You" signs. One of these signs is located directly across from the parking lot, in the median of Old Keene Mill Road.
The Lee District Supervisor will be on hand to speak at the ceremony.
Representatives from Archstone Communities and The Rappaport Companies,
sponsors of the new signage, have also been invited to participate.
Welcoming drivers as they enter Lee District from neighboring districts
and jurisdictions, these signs will be placed in the medians of several
major roadways. Currently, signs are also located on the Franconia
Springfield Parkway and South Van Dorn Street. Others are planned for
several locations, including Beulah Street and Telegraph Road, and
Franconia Road and Telegraph Road.
The signs feature the Fairfax County seal emblazoned with a Lee District
scroll. The signs also remind drivers leaving Lee District to continue to
drive safely.
Residents of Fairfax County, and Lee District in particular, are invited
to participate in the ceremony to celebrate these new signs.
Lee District is situated on 23.94 square miles of land. It is home to
102,304 county residents.
