Weekend Activities Status in Fairfax County
Fairfax County Government has announced the status of weekend activities for Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 20 and 21:
- All Fairfax County Public Schools will be closed on Saturday and Sunday, and all activities planned at these facilities are cancelled except for emergency shelters and the Whitman Middle School Informational Meeting. This includes all community and recreation activities in school facilities and playing fields as well as any scheduled meetings or events at all facilities.
- All Fairfax County Park Authority athletic fields are closed Saturday and Sunday.

The following Fairfax County Park Authority facilities will be closed
Saturday:
- Burke Lake Park and Golf Course
- Lake Accotink Park
- Riverbend Park
- Citizens can bring trash and debris (do not mix them together) to the I-66 transfer station facility, 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., and I-95 landfill facilities, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., on the regularly scheduled Saturday and Sunday hours. For commercial deliveries, hours are extended to 6 p.m. at the transfer station on Saturday.
- On Saturday, Sept. 20, 2003, FAIRFAX CONNECTOR bus service will run on a modified Saturday schedule on Routes 101, 105, 109, 110, 204, 401, 425, 504, 505, 605, 950 and RIBS 1, 2, 3, and 4.
