FAIRFAX CONNECTOR Implements Service Changes to Route 505

 

Effective Monday, Dec. 1, the time schedule for FAIRFAX CONNECTOR Route 505 in Reston will change. Mid-day service will improve from 30-minute to 15-minute intervals on Route 505, so buses will arrive every 15 minutes instead of every 30 minutes, as they do now. The new schedule is posted on the Web at www.fairfaxconnector.com under the Schedules and Maps link.

Route 505 is an express bus which operates between Reston Town Center and the West Falls Church – VT/UVA Metrorail Station seven days per week. During mid-day on weekdays, and all day on weekends, Route 505 also stops at Reston East @ Wiehle Avenue Park & Ride.

Passengers can catch Route 505 at Reston Town Center, at stops along Sunset Hills Road or at Reston East @ Wiehle Avenue Park & Ride and enjoy an express trip to the West Falls Church – VT/UVA Metrorail Station, where they can connect with the Metro system and travel throughout the region. The fare for Route 505 is 75 cents for a one-way trip, and parking at Reston East @ Wiehle Avenue Park & Ride is free.

Additional free parking also is provided at the VDOT commuter parking lot adjacent to Sunset Hills Road just west of Wiehle Avenue. Bus stops for Route 505 are located on the north and south sides of Sunset Hills Road across from the commuter parking lot.

Passengers also can catch Route 505 at West Falls Church – VT/UVA Metrorail Station, and travel to Reston to work, shop, dine or catch a movie.
