Change to Holiday Schedule for Fairfax County Public Schools,
George Washington's Day, Monday, Feb. 16

A previous Office of Public Affairs news release announced the closing of government offices for Feb. 16. While at that time Feb. 16 was scheduled as a holiday for Fairfax County Public Schools, it will now be a regular school day to make up for the snow day taken on Feb. 3. Schools and school system offices will be open on Monday, Feb. 16. Elementary schools will follow their regular Monday schedules.

The School Board had identified Feb. 16 as a snow make-up day, if needed, when the Board approved the 2003-04 school-year calendar in spring 2003 and parents were informed of this.
