Fairfax County Board of Supervisors' Chairman Selected to Serve on Foundation for Virginia Board of Directors
The Virginia Association of Counties has announced that VACo President-Elect Gerald E. Connolly, chairman of the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors, has been selected, along with four other VACo Board members, to serve on the Foundation for Virginia's Board of Directors.
Connolly said, "I look forward to serving on the foundation for this next year. I am committed to the initiatives it endorses and its mandate to raise awareness about the services that truly matter to Virginia residents."
The Foundation for Virginia was founded to raise public awareness about the need to invest in Virginia's core services — education, transportation, public safety, health care and the environment. The Foundation for Virginia is committed to:
- Raising public awareness on the issues affecting Virginia's core services.
- Advocating for public policy solutions that will assure Virginia's prosperity.
- Building grassroots support for legislation that will strengthen Virginia's future.
