Fairfax County Board of Supervisors Evaluates County Attorney

At their regular meeting of Feb. 9, 2004, the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors performed their annual evaluation of the county attorney and approved salary and benefit adjustments. The process used by the board in evaluating its employees reflects the goal of salary adjustments based on demonstrated performance.

The specific adjustments to the compensation package of David P. Bobzien, county attorney for the past eleven years, are:

• A 5 percent increase to his base salary of $157, 919.42, which raises it to $165,815.39 per annum effective Feb. 21
• A $2,000 increase to the amount paid per annum into his deferred compensation account effective Jan. 1, reflecting the new $16,000 IRS maximum allowed as a contribution to his plan.
