Braddock District Supervisor to Host Winter Town Meeting
Supervisor Sharon Bulova will host the annual Braddock District Winter Town Meeting on Wednesday, Feb. 18, from 2:30 to 4 p.m., at Little River Glen Senior Center, 4001 Barker Court, Fairfax.
The focus of this town meeting is a discussion of the construction process and timetable for Little River Glen II, the much-anticipated assisted living facility and adult day-care center.
“The residents of Little River Glen and the surrounding community are eager to welcome this new facility to the neighborhood. I’m optimistic that construction will be well underway later this year, said Bulova.
The first presenter, John Payne, of the Fairfax County Department of Housing and Community Development, will talk about the development and construction. He will address how the center will look, when construction will begin, and what impacts it might have on the surrounding community. He will also give information about the pre-construction meeting, hours of construction, site preparation, construction phase, and the developer’s role.
The next presenter, Sharron Dreyer, also with Housing, will discuss the assisted living facility, how it will operate, what income ranges will be served, the menu of programs and services, and the developer’s role.
The final presenter, Shauna Severo, of the Fairfax County Health Department, will talk about the adult day-care component. She will address questions about how it will operate, how interested county residents can apply, the availability of space in the program and the future status of Annandale Adult Day Care.
The program will wrap up with a question and answer session.
