Reston Neighborhood College Now Accepting Applications

The Reston Neighborhood College community leadership program is now accepting applications for the class of 2004. Space is limited for the free program, which will meet for six sessions in March and April. The deadline to register is Wednesday, March 10. Registration forms are available at the Reston Police Station, 12000 Bowman Towne Drive, Reston, and Dogwood Elementary School, 12300 Glade Drive, Reston.

"The Reston Neighborhood College is a leadership development program," said Robin Patton, regional community developer for Region 3 of the Department of Systems Management for Human Services. "Students will learn more about the local community, the local government and develop skills to become more involved in the community. Plus, the neighborhood college is a great forum for residents to meet their neighbors which builds an even greater sense of community."

The Reston Neighborhood College will meet weekly on Mondays for six weeks, March 15 through April 19, from 6:15 to 8:30 p.m. at Dogwood Elementary School. The program is free and a light dinner will be provided.

Registration forms should be mailed to Elizabeth Major, Fairfax County Department of Systems Management for Human Services, 11484 Washington Plaza West, Suite 110, Reston, VA 20190 or faxed to 703-787-4956 no later than Wednesday, March 10.
