Environmental Workshop Scheduled for March 20
The Fifth Annual Providence District Environmental Workshop will take place Saturday, March 20, from 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. at Luther Jackson Middle School, 3020 Gallows Road, Falls Church, near Route 50. This event will host presenters and exhibits from various environmental organizations and will provide a platform for community dialogue, sharing of information and educational skills. Various community leaders, including Delegate Jim Scott (D-53rd), homeowners associations, and various environmental entities will be attending the event.
The workshop is divided into two one-hour sessions, one at 9:30 a.m. and the second at 11 a.m., with a choice of seminars for each session. Participants can choose from presentations by a variety of diverse speakers including: Dr. Dudley Rochester of the Northern Virginia Lung Association, EcoStewards Alliance, Potomac River Greenways Coalition, Northern Virginia Soil and Water Conservation District, The Audubon Society, Fairfax County Department of Public Works and Environmental Services, International Dark-Sky Association and Fairfax County Department of Health. The presenters will also host exhibits along with Fairfax County Urban Forestry, Wildlife Division Animal Control and Fire and Rescue.
Back by popular demand, The Northern Virginia Soil and Water Conservation District will have order forms on hand for their annual native seedling sale.
The Providence District Supervisor welcomes everyone who wants to participate at this workshop.
