Fairfax County Board of Supervisors' Chairman Gerald E. Connolly Announces Early Learning Summit
Today, Fairfax County Board of Supervisors’ Chairman Gerald E. Connolly announced a summit on early childhood education for business and civic leaders. The “Early Learning is Good Business” summit will be held on June 3 at the Fairview Park Marriott, 3111 Fairview Park Drive, Falls Church, from 7:30 to 10:30 a.m.
“I encourage business and civic leaders to attend, because an investment in early childhood learning results in an educated workforce,” said Connolly, who will host the summit.

Washington Business Journal Publisher Alex Orfinger will be master of ceremonies. David Lawrence Jr., former publisher of The Miami Herald, will be the keynote speaker. Also speaking will be Dr. Mildred Warner of the Child Care & Economic Development project at Cornell University and Dr. Stephen Fuller of the Center for Regional Analysis at George Mason University.
The summit is co-sponsored by the Fairfax County
Community Action Advisory Board, the Fairfax County Child Care Advisory
Council and the Fairfax County Office for Children/Department of Family
Services.
