Fourth “Community Dialog” on Gang-Related
Activity to be Held Tonight
Braddock District Supervisor Sharon Bulova will host the fourth in a series of “Community Dialogs” tonight, Wednesday, May 12, to discuss an increase in gang-related activity and revitalization issues in the Heritage Drive corridor of Annandale. The meeting will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. in the cafeteria of Braddock Elementary School, 7835 Heritage Drive in Annandale.
Tonight’s meeting will feature presentations on what aging neighborhoods and commercial areas can do to ensure that they remain vital, safe and desirable. Speakers include Winnie Shapiro, Braddock District Representative to the Fairfax County Park Authority, who will address the re-planning of Ossian Hall Park; and Paula Sampson, director of the Fairfax County Department of Housing and Community Development, who will discuss revitalization programs and initiatives that work.
Also on the program this evening, Fairfax County Acting Police Chief Suzanne Devlin will brief participants on the apparent gang-related attack Monday that occurred on Edsall Road in Fairfax County. Chief Devlin will be the first speaker of the evening.
