Braddock District Announces BOB Winners

 

Fairfax County Supervisor Sharon Bulova and the Braddock District Council have announced the winners of the 2004 Best of Braddock (BOB) awards.

The BOB awards will be presented at the annual Braddock District Council picnic on Tuesday, June 8, at 7:30 p.m. at Supervisor Bulova’s office, 9002 Burke Lake Road (Kings Park Library building) in Burke.

This is the second year for the BOB awards, which recognize those citizens, organizations and businesses in the Braddock District that have gone above and beyond to be the very best. The awards are a joint program of the BDC and Supervisor Bulova. The 2004 award winners are:

Category: Club or Organization Really Making a Difference in the Braddock District
Canterbury Woods Civic Association CERT Team
CWCA President Tom Reinkober (accepting the award)

Category: Most Outstanding Business Person in the Braddock District
Steve Korfonta, Seville Homes

Category: Commercial Beautification or Improvement in the Braddock District
Fairfax Memorial Park
Michael Doherty (accepting the award)

Category: Most “Can-Do” Public Employee in the Braddock District
Tawny Hammond, manager, Lake Accotink Park

Category: Neighborhood Enhancement or Beautification in the Braddock District
Fairfax County Park Authority (for the Long Branch Stream Valley Park Trail)
