Volunteers Needed at Fairfax County Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Court
Victim services aides are needed to assist crime victims of juvenile offenders for the Office of Victim Services at the Fairfax County Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Court. Volunteers will notify victims of pending hearings, inform victims of their legal rights and provide victims with emotional support. Training and supervision will be provided by the coordinator of this office. A minimum commitment of one four-hour shift per week between 9:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, for six months is required. Volunteers will be interviewed and must submit to a criminal background check. A background in law, counseling or social work is helpful but not required.
