Discounted Bus Fares End June 27
Effective Sunday, June 27, the Bus Fare Buydown program in the Richmond Highway corridor will end. The Bus Fare Buydown program is a promotion funded by the Commonwealth of Virginia to increase Metrorail ridership by lowering the fares on bus routes which serve Metrorail stations. Bus routes which have offered discounted fares in the Richmond Highway Bus Fare Buydown program during the past 12-month period include:
- FAIRFAX CONNECTOR - Routes 105, 106, 107
- Metrobus - Route 9A
FAIRFAX CONNECTOR bus fares will return to a new base cost of $1, or 35 cents with a Metrorail-to-bus transfer. Metrobus fares will return to a new base cost of $1.25, or 35 cents with a Metrorail-to-bus transfer.
