Braddock District Supervisor and School Board Member to Meet with
Students in Anti-Gang Violence Program
When: Wednesday, July 21, 10:30 a.m. (session will last approximately one-half hour)
Where: Annandale Terrace Elementary School, 7604 Herald Street, Annandale *
Who: Sharon Bulova, supervisor, Braddock District and Tessie Wilson, Braddock District member of the Fairfax County Public School Board
What: Question and answer session with school children
Why: To talk to fifth-grade children about gangs and gang violence.
Bulova and Wilson
will also hold a question and answer session with the children.
Background: “Get Real About Violence” is a special summer program
designed to teach fifth-
grade children at Annandale Terrace Elementary School gang refusal
and
resiliency skills. The program is a joint project of Annandale Terrace,
the Fairfax-Falls Church Community Services Board and the Department of
Community and Recreation Services. The anti-violence program runs from
10:15 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays during the
school’s summer intersession, July 6 - 22. (Annandale Terrace is a
year-round school.) The program is free, and transportation is being
provided to and from the Fairmont Gardens apartment complex. For
