Women's Issues, Pets and Much More

Tune in to Fairfax County Government Cable Channel 16 in August for the latest edition of “County Magazine” and learn more about the county’s Commission for Women and how it tackles issues affecting women and girls. Also highlighted are the activities of a new council to address the shortage of long-term care for seniors in Fairfax County and a feature on the Tim Harmon 5K, an annual race that calls attention to the prevalence and dangers of hepatitis C.

Also included on the August program is the Women’s Business Center of Northern Virginia, which has new and exciting programs for entrepreneurs; pet safety during these “dog days” of summer; and how to garden your way to a cleaner environment.

“County Magazine,” with host Gail Eskew, can be viewed on cable Channel 16 each Monday at 7 p.m., Tuesday at 6:30 p.m., Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 3:30 p.m. and Sunday at 1:30 p.m. The program may also be viewed on the Internet at anytime during the month through Channel 16’s video-on-demand service at www.fairfaxcounty.gov/dtcs/channel16/vstream.htm.
